As a special treat, this morning’s post is from a very special guest blogger and fellow x-stitcher: Leslie from Disorderly Stitches!

Leslie writes:

“A funny thing happens when you become a cross stitch pattern designer, you begin to see everyday objects as patterns. I’m studying to be a dietitian and one of the great things about my books are the beautiful pictures of healthy foods. When I was sitting in class I noticed a page full of colorful fruits and vegetables and I came up with an idea for a pattern.

After creating some rather intense patterns lately I wanted to do something cute and simple. I decided to make the food as small as I could while still being able to recognize what they are. I also decided to use only cross stitches to keep it as basic as possible. Although this task was slightly more challenging than I initially thought, I ended up with a simple and easy-to-stitch pattern.”
