FREE Pretty Bird Cross Stitch Pattern with Cut Out Card + Envelope Templates

Final Image

What better way to say Thank You, Congratulations or Happy Birthday, than with a pretty hand-stitched card made by you!

This tutorial will show you how to make a fun easy cross stitch card and matching envelope. You can get all the info and patterns here for free, so keep on reading!

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

You will need the following 3 files to complete this FREE craft:

1. Click to download the Pretty Bird Card Cross Stitch Pattern

2. Click to download the Card Template

3. Click to download the Envelope Template

The JPEG images will open in a new window in your browser. RIGHT CLICK on each image, and either PRINT right away or choose SAVE AS to save them on your computer to print another time.

After you have all the files, stitch up your Pretty Bird Cross Stitch…it should only take a few hours 🙂

Then follow along with the steps below to make your Cut Out Card + matching Envelope!!

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

The instructions are also included with the Envelope Template and Card Template, but there are some pretty pictures below that show you exactly how to make this fun little craft!

Step 1

After you have stitched the Pretty Bird Cross Stitch Pattern, print out the Envelope and Card Template.

Print the envelope on regular-weight printer paper, and use a nice card-stock or matte photo paper for the card.

Cut out the card and envelope pieces along the outside dotted lines.

Step 1

Step 2

Fold envelope sides and bottom into center. Fold card into thirds along dotted lines, and cut out center square (shaded area). Step 2

Step 3

Tape your finished piece of stitching into the center of the card opening.

Notice the masking tape here- the previous photo shows a roll of scotch (clear) tape. I don’t recommend using it 🙂

The masking tape is much nicer to use on your aida cloth.

Step 3

Step 4

The last step uses a glue-stitck to glue the envelope bottom flap to the two side flaps. Also glue the card flap down around your taped cross stitch, being careful not to get any glue on the fabric.

That’s it, you’re done!! Don’t forget to add your name in the “Stitched by” section!

I hope you all have fun making this cute card!
